About Me & How I Work

Whether you’re looking for individual, family, or couples counseling, I’m here to support you as you’re on your journey of living the life you desire, while exploring the thoughts and feelings that might have prevented you from doing so in the past.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and understood as we begin to work through patterns that no longer serve you. I work from a Postmodern perspective, and often incorporate emerging concepts from neuroscience, attachment theory, and mindfulness to promote a more holistic sense of self. I am a sex positive, trauma informed and culturally sensitive therapist, who is committed to understanding the complexity of your world.

I am calm and compassionate, and offer a warm, inviting space where clients can develop a deeper awareness of themselves, gain insight about their lives, and explore relationships and challenges on a path toward a more harmonious future.

Becoming a Therapist

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a writer in the entertainment industry, and spent many years working as a liaison between the creative team and production. In this field, I learned just how powerful the stories we tell ourselves are, and how self-imposed narratives can often become our entire identity.

As an undergraduate, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Italian from the University of Southern California, and then went on to earn my Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, where I graduated with honors. At Phillips, my graduate research project explored the connections between nonmongamous relationship dynamics and sexual satisfaction in long-term partnerships.
